On the oscillatory behaviours and rub-impact forces of a horizontally supported asymmetric rotor system under position-velocity feedback controller

This work is meant to investigate and control the nonlinear dynamical behaviours of a asymmetric rotating shaft system. The studied system modeled as having both quadratic cubic nonlinearities excited at primary resonance. A linear proportional-derivative controller introduced eliminate suppress lateral vibrations shaft. influences different parameters on oscillatory considered are explored. main obtained analytical results showed that uncontrolled may respond with forward backward whirling motion. However, proposed illustrated its feasibility in eliminating forcing it behave like systems. Moreover, confirmed proportional gain plays dominant role destabilizing rotor Finally, safe operation avoiding rub-impact force occurrence discussed.
